The awards began with a welcome from APL Chair Holly Youde who recapped the association’s last 12 months, discussed plans for the future and introduced the host for the day, General Manager of the APL, Phil Tremayne. The guest speaker for the afternoon was Frances Tophill, known for her work on-screen with Gardener’s World and Love Your Garden. Frances discussed how her passion for gardening has taken her to Giverny, France to work on Monet’s Garden and as far as Barbados to work at the Andromeda Botanical Garden.
The ceremony featured 19 different award categories plus the announcement of the supreme winner, Ellicar for their Wildlife and Water Garden in Nottinghamshire. The company had a hugely successful day, taking home 4 awards in total including Soft Landscaping, Overall Design and Build and Swimming Pools.
The entries are now open for 2025 with the ceremony returning to The Brewery on Friday the 14th of March, 2025. The closing date for entries is Friday the 7th of June. Next year will also celebrate 30 years of The Association of Professional Landscapers. A huge milestone.
The APL say of entering - “So much can be gained from winning an APL Award – from coverage in trade and consumer press to raise your profile, improve your reputation with clients and show you’re a quality landscaper to raising morale in the team and making your company more appealing to work for. A priceless marketing tool for just a little bit of your time and a small entry fee that will give your landscaping projects, your company and your staff the recognition they deserve.”
